Biography
Photography has fascinated me since the late 1960’s, when I bought my first 35mm SLR camera, a Nikon FTN . I never got past shooting snapshots as work and family somehow always took priority. Any creative urges went into hibernation until 2004, when I was introduced to the Raritan Photographic Society in East Brunswick, NJ. I learned a great deal from the judged, monthly competitions, various professional lecturers, field trips, and more experienced fellow members. Advancing in the novice class winning a few ribbons, I ended my education there with a 1st Place ribbon in our club's "Best of the Best" year-end competition.
On retiring to Aiken in 2005, I pursued my passion for natural outdoor photography. Shooting mostly in Aiken’s Horse District, Hitchcock Woods, Hopelands Gardens, Silver Bluff Audubon, and Historic Aiken affords me endless subject matter.
I believe my active participation in the Aiken and North Augusta Artist Guilds, with fine critiques, lectures, presentations and artistic atmosphere keep my creative juices flowing.
